松契舎について

松契舎（Pinherity）は、
日本の手仕事や文化が持つ精神性を尊重し、
それらを次の世代へとつなぐための場として生まれました。

Pinherity は、
常緑で長寿の象徴である Pine（松） と、
受け継がれてきた文化や技を意味する Heritage を
組み合わせた造語です。

漢字の「松契舎」には、
人と人、世代と世代を結ぶ「契り」と、
その営みが行われる「場」という意味を込めています。

About Pinherity（English）

Pinherity was founded as a place to honor the spirit embedded in Japanese craftsmanship and cultural practices, and to carry them forward to the next generation with care and respect.

The name Pinherity is a coined word combining Pine—a symbol of longevity and constancy—and Heritage, meaning what has been passed down through time.

The Japanese name 松契舎 expresses the idea of a “bond” (chigiri) that connects people, generations, and skills, and a “place” (sha) where such connections are nurtured.

Rather than preserving traditions as something static, Pinherity seeks to engage with them as living practices—rooted in history, yet open to the present and the future.

Our activities include:

• The continuation and operation of a traditional Kamakura-bori carving school
• Cultural experiences and learning opportunities related to Japanese craftsmanship
• The introduction of tools and works that support these practices (planned)
